SIAS For Apprentices
When you start your apprenticeship there is a lot to take in and the last thing you are probably thinking about is what will happen at the end, especially those of you for whom the end is several years away.
So the first thing is don’t panic. There are plenty of people that you can turn to for advice including SIAS.
So if you are just starting out all you need to know is this:
- At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate that you are fully competent in the occupation you have been trained for.
- You will show you have the knowledge, skills and behaviours that employers value.
- You will do this by taking the end point assessment test.
- You will get a grade for this test and, if you are successful, you will receive the national apprenticeship award certificate.
That’s it, simple. Your employer and training provider will help to prepare you for the test and they will have already made sure you are competent before you take the test.
Once you get closer to the end of your apprenticeship you may wish to come back to these pages to find out more, but in the meantime enjoy your apprenticeship, work hard and you will have a bright future ahead of you working in science and technology.
